Top Scottish catering firm Heritage Portfolio is spreading its wings and expanding south, with two exciting venue wins in England; world record-breaking British Airways i360, from the creators of the London Eye, opening on Brighton beach this summer and the beautiful, historic Arley Hall & Gardens in Northwich, Cheshire.

The award-winning Edinburgh based Heritage Portfolio, which is part of the Centerplate group, is the leading catering company in Scotland and has been granted the Royal Warrant of Appointment to Her Majesty The Queen as Supplier of Catering Services

Mark Miller, executive director and founder of Heritage Portfolio, said, “We are very excited to be selected to work at two such superb attractions – British Airways i360 is already world-renowned, even before it opens and the idyllic and charming Arley Hall & Gardens in Cheshire. We are already in talks to set up a hub in the North West of England to cater for more venues in the area.”

These sentiments were echoed by Adrian Dishington, Chief Operating Officer for Centerplate UK, who added, “It’s a fantastic time for Heritage Portfolio at the moment as they grow their collection of venues and we are excited to have this dynamic and innovative company as part of the Centerplate family.”

The ethos of Heritage Portfolio is ‘open, honest and proud’ and Miller has created a team structure that stands true to the firm’s values of building a business to be proud of. With other Scottish catering companies nipping at the heels of Heritage Portfolio, they enjoy ensuring that their menus are trend setting, unparalleled and innovative and that their event designers forge the way in creating unforgettable events at a number of significant venues throughout Britain.

Brian Canale, former Scottish Chef of the Year, is the Executive Development Chef for Heritage Portfolio who heads up a multi award-winning team that live by their philosophy of ‘honest cooking’, where the quality meats and locally sourced ingredients speak for themselves. Pioneering in his vision for the Heritage Portfolio menus, Canale creates exciting dishes that use the latest techniques and interesting ingredients with the goal of ensuring that a Heritage Portfolio dining experience is one that is never forgotten. Along with Terry Price, Director of Culinary Operations for Centerplate, Canale will be part of the food development team that will create the new and unique menus for the British Airways i360 and Arley Hall & Gardens.

“As we do everywhere we work, at British Airways i360 and Arley Hall, we will be developing unique and special menus using the best of local produce and we are particularly looking forward to working with Sussex produce champions Steven Edwards, former MasterChef: The Professionals Winner, and his co-chef Josh Stanzl, who will be creating signature dishes as part of our offer on the south coast,” said Brian Canale.

At British Airways i360, the Heritage Portfolio team will manage catering for a 400 seat brasserie and 50 to 500 capacity event rooms on the beach at the base of the 162 meter moving observation tower and from a reconstructed 18th century toll booth tea rooms on the promenade. They will offer a range of fare, from light bites to fine dining, for the 700,000 attraction visitors, business events, weddings and people popping in for lunch or afternoon tea.

At the beautiful, historic Arley Hall & Gardens, the now in-house Heritage Portfolio team is managing all event bookings and event design for weddings, private dinners and receptions as well as creating a unique, new café to serve exquisite fare to garden visitors, opening soon.

“At both venues, we will be building local teams with the flexibility that such unique and special venues will need, whilst maintaining the quality and traditions that we at Heritage Portfolio are proud of,” continued Mark Miller.

Said Eleanor Harris, CEO of British Airways i360, “We are really looking forward to working with the Heritage Portfolio team and think they will bring that special something that reflects the quality and uniqueness of our amazing attraction and venue.”
