Brighton’s favourite family Italian restaurant, Donatello, has been named as the official sponsor in the Seagulls’ pre-season friendly against Lazio of Rome on 31 July.
The sponsorship marks a ten year relationship with the club, with Donatello first sponsoring the Seagulls almost five years before their move from the Withdean stadium to the new Amex Stadium in 2011.
As it is off season, pre-match hospitality will not be offered at the stadium for the Lazio match, so Brighton and Hove Albion FC is urging ticket holders to visit Donatello in the Lanes to enjoy a pre-match lunch offered at 10% discount and make a special Italian day of it.
Donatello chefs will be whipping up some favourite dishes from Rome, including rigatoni amatriciana and their superb, thin-based Roman pizzas. Fans should quote Lazio or show their ticket to restaurant staff to receive the discount.
Sue and Leo Addis, co-owners of Donatello said: “We are so happy to be sponsoring a team that is close to our hearts and to Brighton and Hove’s hearts too. It’s an even more exciting prospect that the team will be playing an Italian team on the day, but as it’s a friendly game we will just enjoy it and hope everyone else will too!”
Paul Rogers, Commercial & Premium Partnerships Manager and former player at Brighton and Hove Albion, said: “Donatello is such a favourite of ours and of our fans; we are delighted to have them on board for this great pre-season match.
“We first worked with Sue and her family team almost ten years ago and we feel that it’s vital to maintain these local business connections. It’s not only good for business but for the local community, and therefore the morale of the entire club. To be able to support each other is what it’s all about.”
