Dancing on Ice star launches Royal Pavilion Ice Rink

Opening night for the Ice Rink at the Pavilion, Brighton - Ray Quinn

Over 400 celebrities, journalists and dignitaries enjoyed the fifth birthday party of Brighton’s Royal Pavilion Ice Rink on 6th November, which opens to the public from November 8 to January 18.

At the launch ceremony, hosted by Heart FM’s breakfast team, guests enjoyed a performance by Dancing on Ice and X-factor star Ray Quinn, who sang a song from his new EP, Old Soul, Young Blood.

Ray’s performance was accompanied by a stunning ice dance routine from professional figure skater, Iain George, to mark the world renowned Holiday on Ice coming back to the UK with their show Platinum. Both Ray and Iain will be performing in the ice extravaganza which is showing at The Brighton Centre only from 6th to 11th January.

The rink’s Bar & Kitchen served up drinks and delicious canapés taken from its new winter menu, before guests took to the ice for the first time this winter.

The 840 square metre rink has space for 260 skaters per session, with a beginners’ area, penguin skate aids and skate sizes from ‘just walking’ to adult. There’s no charge for spectating for those who prefer to sit and soak up the atmosphere in the stunning rinkside Bar & Kitchen, offering mouth-watering patisserie and festive toffee apples for a Christmas treat, a quick drink after work with the best view in the City or a full three-course meal with family and friends.

Tickets can be booked now and prices remain the same this year, with ice skating tickets cost from £10 for adults and £7 for children under 12 and students, and the one-hour skate times run from 10am to 10.15pm daily.

Off peak prices are on offer Mon – Fri until mid December up to 5.15pm, to allow school children to enjoy the rink, and concessions are also available for students. Box office is open from 9.30am to 9.45pm, but it is advisable to book tickets in advance.
