Cyclists Morvelo Battle Royale at Circus Street Brighton

BATTLE4
Over 120 cyclists have signed up to compete in speedway races at the first Morvélo Battle Royale, on Saturday December 6 at Circus Street Brighton with support from many local businesses including Cathedral Group (Holdings) Ltd and McLaren.

Organised by Brighton based cycle clothing and accessories firm Morvélo, the event is free for the public to watch a series of races between two teams of three riders battling it out over four laps on an indoor 180m concrete oval track within the old municipal market building.

Said Olli Pepper from Morvélo: “We are really excited about holding this event at the venue and can’t believe what a positive response we’ve had from cyclists and the local business community. We are looking forward to offering some thrills and spills and a great family day out.”

In a series of races, whilst first rider across the line will get the cheers from the crowd, all three members of a team have to cross the line to win. Places for the contest were sold out weeks ago, but spectators can participate in roller racing with South Coast Sprints, on bikes already set up on rollers.

They can also enjoy refreshments from Velo Cafe serving coffee and cakes, Dark Star Brew co. serving beer, wood fired pizzas, traditional Indian food and more.

Morvélo Battle Royale is on Saturday 6th December, 9am to 8pm, Circus Street Market, Circus Street, Brighton, BN2 9QF.
