Local charity Pilgrim’s Hospice received a special invitation to cut the ribbon and open The Southern Co-operative’s new food store in Minster, Ramsgate and received a £500 donation.

Karen Kenward, Community Fundraising Manager and Lil Smith, Volunteer for Pilgrims Hospices, Thanet said: ͞We are delighted to be chosen as this store’s charity and to attend the new store opening in Minster. This wonderful donation will help provide care for all who need it, both within the hospice and at home. On behalf of our patients, I would like to thank you all so very much.͟

The Southern Co-operative’s new store is home to a large range of fresh produce, chilled food options and a Local Flavours range featuring eggs, beers, wines and spirits as well as frozen food all produced locally. The community food store will be open from 7am until 9pm, seven days a week with a Paypoint facility.

We look forward to continuing to assist with the hospice’s fundraising.

͞”We have 19 new team members who live locally and look forward to showing new customers what we have, including an array of pastries freshly baked and available in store every day, a coffee machine and a cash point.͟”
